Kylian Mbappé bekennt sich zum christlichen Glauben
Der französische Fußball-Star Kylian Mbappé hält sein Privat- und Glaubensleben weitgehend aus der Öffentlichkeit heraus. Vor einer Schulklasse bekannte er sich einst kurz und knapp zum christlichen Glauben. Dazu gehen aktuell in den sozialen Medien mehrere Beiträge viral.
Kylian Mbappé ist mit einem christlichen Vater aus Kamerun und einer muslimischen Mutter aus Algerien aufgewachsen. Er wurde in beiden Traditionen erzogen und bekennt sich heute zum christlichen Glauben. Als er vor einiger Zeit im Gespräch mit einer Gruppe von Schulkindern gefragt wurde, welcher Glaubensrichtung er angehöre, antwortete er mit einem einzigen Wort:
„Christ.“

Kylian Mbappé hält seinen Glauben ansonsten eher privat, betont aber, dass er nicht an Zufälle glaubt und er sein Leben und sein Talent als Geschenk sieht. Im Jahr 2024 sprach er in einem Interview mit dem französischen Sender Canal+ offen über seinen Glauben. Seinerzeit erklärte er:
„Ich glaube an Gott. Gott hat für jeden einen Plan. Ich glaube, dass bei allem, was geschieht, keine Zufälle im Spiel sind.“

Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” This verse serves as a strong reminder that mere ‘belief’ in God is not sufficient for a genuine relationship with Him. Even the demons recognise God’s existence, yet their belief does not lead to salvation or a transformed life. As Christians, we are called to go beyond acknowledgment; we must embrace a true faith that results in action. This begins with repentance. When we genuinely repent, we turn away from sin and acknowledge our need for a Saviour. Repentance is more than feeling sorry for our wrongs; it’s a transformative decision to forsake our old ways and follow Christ. Furthermore, faith in Jesus as our Lord is essential. It’s not just about believing that He exists or that He died for our sins. True faith involves submitting our lives to Him, acknowledging Him as the authority over our lives, and trusting Him for our salvation. This faith compels us to live out our beliefs through our actions, demonstrating our love for Him and obedience to His Word. So, while we continue to pray for Mbappe to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus, let US ALL evaluate our faith today. Are we merely acknowledging God’s existence, or are we living in a way that reflects a deep, personal commitment to Him? Let us embrace repentance and an authentic faith in Jesus.
